Within Europe,a  14-month pilot project for the European Financial Coalition officially began on the 1st July 2009 wich ended with a final conference, on 15-16 September 2010.  The aim of the conference was to give delegates a current understanding of the European-wide intelligence picture, relating to the commercial distribution of child abuse images. This intelligence has been summarised in the EFC’s Strategic Assessment, which was released during the conference. The Strategic Assessment also gives recommendations for law enforcement and industry on how the commercial element of child sexual abuse images may be tackled.
